Every rug has its own origin story. From the meticulous craftsmanship of the skillful weavers of the Himalayan mountains to the designs created by artists from Germany to Pakistan, these rugs journey from country to country to reach their ultimate destination: your home.
We hand-select each piece that enters the showroom, choosing what we believe truly embodies our mission here at David E. Adler Fine Rugs. Our mission is to bring you unique, individualized rugs that reflect your personality and symbolize the story of your home.
We define the word “tradition” as a belief that is passed down from one generation to the next. Traditional rugs are classic styles made to stand the test of time, both in quality and timeless design. “Briza” is just that.
This featured rug is made in Pakistan, featuring vegetal-dyed wool and Persian-inspired medallions placed thoughtfully throughout a soft, neutral field. Floral embellishments adorn the medallions, adding a touch of balance to this quietly elegant, classical piece.
“Baku Tribal” is a great example of traditional patterns reawakened into modern, transitional designs. This German artist describes this as a “journey in abstraction and memory,” paying homage to the “archaic language of nomadic design, reimagined through the lens of contemporary minimalism.”
This particular rug uses old pieces of patterns from Baluchistan, a region a skip away from Rajasthan, (the place in which the rug was crafted).
The background’s natural, earthy colors and the geometric pattern by the Baluch people are married with high-contrast chrome dyes to bring vibrance and boldness to an otherwise traditional design. It’s a breath of fresh air in the transitional world of design, a “spiritual bridge between raw tradition and urban elegance.”
Contemporary designs, such as “Fiori Di Como,” come to life when the artist finds inspiration in the work of other artists. The artist of this vibrant piece was inspired by a wall of hand-blown glass flowers while on a business trip, which is the source of inspiration for many of their designs.
On their way to dinner, the artists came upon a whimsical ceiling of hand-blown glass flowers and were instantly encapsulated by it. As they stood under the magnificence of color, this team’s minds became one. It was the perfect inspiration for their next design.
The glass flowers embody their brand and what message they want to send with their art. The artists behind “Fiori Di Como” believe that “designs should be colorful like our lives.” They hope that the joy, chaos, color, and vibrancy of this piece pour into your heart like it did theirs.
