A new chapter in trauma-informed care has begun in the heart of Scottsdale with the grand opening of Redefine Wellness & Treatment’s Outpatient Treatment Center. Co-founded by Laura Ramos and Daniel Petersen, the facility blends evidence-based clinical therapies with holistic healing modalities, creating a comprehensive approach to treating trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, grief, and addiction.

The center offers flexible, trauma-informed mental health support that honors both mind and soul. From individual and group therapy to structured intensive outpatient programs (IOP), Redefine provides options that allow patients to engage deeply in their healing journey while still maintaining daily responsibilities.
“Our mission is to make transformative healing accessible,” Laura said. “By weaving together clinical and holistic therapies, we empower individuals to reclaim their lives: balanced, resilient, and whole.”

The services at Redefine reflect that integrative philosophy. In addition to traditional therapy, patients have access to neurofeedback, EMDR, brainspotting, trauma coaching, health coaching, and breathwork. Holistic offerings such as Reiki, meditation, yoga, and mindfulness practices are also available, ensuring that healing addresses the nervous system, emotional well-being, and spiritual connection.
Ramos brings decades of experience guiding clients beyond conventional therapy. A Certified Professional Coach and Brain Health Coach trained by the Amen Clinics, she has long championed an approach that extends beyond symptom management. She is also a partner at Maui Healing Retreat, where guests immerse themselves in yoga, meditation, energy healing, and personalized retreat sessions. Her work reflects a belief that clinical excellence and soul-centered healing are not separate paths, but complementary ones.

For Petersen, the center represents professional expertise and personal calling. With more than a decade of experience in mental health and trauma care, he began his career volunteering at a trauma treatment center before advancing to neurofeedback practitioner, Chief Operating Officer, and partner. Prior to entering the mental health field, he spent 20 years in leadership and management roles, developing the operational skills needed to scale organizations and cultivate strong, compassionate teams.
“Our mission is to transform trauma care by bringing together compassion, neuroscience, and holistic healing,” Petersen said. “This isn’t just a business for me. My own journey through healing taught me that people don’t just need treatment, they need to be seen, understood, and empowered. Redefine was built on that belief: that every person deserves the chance to not only recover, but to rediscover who they truly are.”

What sets Redefine apart is its intentional integration of neuroscience-informed therapies with holistic practices aimed at lasting transformation. The center is staffed by a trauma-informed team of licensed therapists, coaches, holistic practitioners, and a psychiatrist, all committed to delivering safe, compassionate, whole-person care. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, each patient follows a personalized healing path shaped by their goals, strengths, and life circumstances.
