Valley of the Sun Active 20-30 Club

AFM: In a brief 2-3 sentences, please tell us a little bit about the Valley of the Sun Active 20-30 Club
VOS2030: Valley of the Sun Active 20-30 Club is a philanthropic organization made up of 60 professional women ages 21-39 who are committed to fundraising for and participating in organized hands-on activities with local children’s charities through our 501c3 Valley Kids Foundation. Since our inception, we have raised more than two million dollars for charities, including Florence Crittenton and Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Our goal is to provide professional women an opportunity for personal growth, friendships, and leadership development while improving the quality of life for children in the community.

AFM: What does it mean to you to be a Best of Our Valley winner?
VOS2030: We are honored to be recognized as Best Civic Organization! It reminds all of us what an impact a group of professional, likeminded women can make and recognizes the impact we are making in the Greater Phoenix community. From volunteering with our beneficiaries and the children impacted by our efforts, to planning events to raise funds for our beneficiaries, this recognition means so much in confirming the hard work and dedication of our members.

AFM: What’s your favorite part about being the Best of Our Valley’s Best Civic Organization?
VOS2030: Our favorite part about being the Best of Our Valley’s Best Civic Organization is the recognition and confirmation of the impact that our members are making on the community and the support we have from the Arizona Foothills community. Since all of our members are volunteering their time, it showcases how important our work is for our beneficiaries and the community.

AFM: Have you seen any benefits as a result of being a BOOV winner?
VOS2030: We have had such great support from the community at our events this past year. It has also lead to more interest as we begin our summer membership drive with membership mixers in July and August! We look forward to the continued support as we begin our 2018-2019 year where we will continue to support our beneficiaries and the children they impact!

AFM: How do you/your team put your “best” foot forward every day?
VOS2030: Our motto is “one never stands so tall as when kneeling to help a child.” We keep this motto top of mind in all that we do.
