For over the past 20 years, we’ve celebrated the Valley’s best. From the top businesses and professionals to the people who make it all happen, Arizona Foothills Magazine’s annual Best of Our Valley contest recognizes Arizona’s crème de la crème across more than 400 categories. From the best doctors and best resort down to the best cup of coffee you can find around town, each Best of titleholder is chosen by those who know the city best – our readers.

The Best of spotlight is on Sapporo, who claimed the Valley’s Best Teppanyaki. Congrats, Sapporo!

AFM: In a brief 2-3 sentences, please tell us a little bit about Sapporo and what it’s all about –
Sapporo: With its Japanese-inspired design, Sapporo is a bold, iconic and energetic restaurant. We celebrate great taste and technique with chefs throughout the house preparing craveable dishes and drinks. Whether its watching each dish being prepared at one of our Teppanyaki cooking tables or at the sushi bar, or sampling Pacific Rim dishes in the dining room or in the lounge, you know the food is fresh, seasonal and inspired.

AFM: What does it mean to Sapporo to be a Best of Our Valley winner?
Sapporo: It means that we have continued to create a positive and memorable dining experience in our community.  We are overjoyed to have won Best of Our Valley again. We are delighted to have so many wonderful guests who have been dining and celebrating special occasions with us for so many years.   Thank you to AZ Foothills and thank you to our guests!

AFM: What’s the best part about being the Best of Our Valley’s Best Teppanyaki?
Sapporo: The best part is that we have remained relevant throughout the Valley for over 17 years!  We are very proud of our staff and grateful for all of our loyal guests.

AFM: What advice would you give to others to be the “best” in your field?  
Sapporo: I would say, it’s all about our guests.  Our passion for food, drink and creating the best guest experience is evident in everything we do.

AFM: Have you seen any benefits as a result of being a BOOV winner?
Sapporo: Absolutely! Our staff gets very excited about this as well and loves to spread the word.  AZ Foothills has such a strong presence in the Valley, it’s an honor to be a part of their Best.

AFM: How does Sapporo put its “best” foot forward every day?
Sapporo: We maintain our core values of passion, integrity, leadership, work ethic and intellect. We create emotional connections with our guests and are committed to offering them extraordinary food paired with friendly, gracious and knowledgeable service in a fun and comfortable environment.
