Prius C is a Revolution Inside of a Revolution

While Toyota has been helping to bring the automotive industry into the future over the past few years with the various improvements to the Prius, including the recent introduction of the all electric optional Prius Plug In model, they have all along had another revolutionary idea up their sleeves.  They call it a concept: The Prius C Concept.

This micro version of the regular Prius comes with two promises from Toyota, 1: The Prius C will be the most fuel efficient production hybrid on earth, and 2: The Prius C will be the most “Value Oriented” hybrid on the market.  Most take these two promises to mean that the Toyota Prius C will out perform the Honda Insight, while at the same time coming with an even lower price tag.  This will likely mean anywhere between an average of 60 to 90 mpg highway (much more than beating the less than impressive first generation Honda Insight), while coming in at an under $20k base starting price.

These promises, while they may seem extravagant, do not seem unrealistic to us here at Vroom.  The main reason is that Toyota has already pulled off the classic Prius, a feat many would have called extravagant and unrealistic before Toyota pulled it off.  The other reason is that the only necessary ingredients for greatness, if you really want to boil it down to it’s essence, are vision and competence.  Toyota has both of these things in spades.

Phoenix Valley auto enthusiasts can view and test drive any current production model Toyota Prius at any Phoenix Valley Toyota dealer, and can expect to see the Toyota Prius C on the showroom floors early next year.  Phoenix Valley auto enthusiasts should plan on attending the Phoenix Arizona International Auto Show to learn about the most recent concepts and innovations in the way of hybrid, electric, and alternative fuel technologies from Toyota, as well as the rest of the auto industry, taking place at the Phoenix Arizona Convention center over Thanksgiving weekend.
