A manufacturer who mostly produces a lineup of soft luxury cars, with models such as the new Lexus LFA a shining, and very high price tag, exception to the rule, Lexus isn’t known for making vehicles that cater to the enthusiast. However, in addition to the LFA, one other bright spot exists this year for Phoenix Valley performance junkies, the rear-wheel drive IS and its high-performance variant the IS F.
What the Lexus IS offers to Phoenix Arizona residents is a combination of a high-tech, high performance vehicle, with the soft, and largely affordable, luxury of the traditional Lexus line up.
What further sets the IS apart is a host of options, largely cosmetic, from the manufacturer. The car is available in two exterior colors, Starfire Pearl or Obsidian. The exterior changes start with a nice-looking set of 19-inch forged alloy wheels with a dark graphite finish paired with Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Other exterior addons include Xenon high intensity discharge lamps with LED daytime running lights, suspension lowered by about one inch, a set of sway bars to improve handling, as well as a new set of shock absorbers developed with Bilstein.
Other options that Phoenix Arizona residents are offered include black and red semi-aniline leather seating and with red stitching, heated and ventilated front seats, Lexus Navigation, Lexus Enform, Bluetooth, a backup camera, Voice Command system, XM NavTraffic, XM Nav Weather and XM Sports and Stocks.
You can view and test drive the new 2011 Lexus IS at any of your Phoenix Arizona area Lexus dealers.
