Closing Ceremony Style

Okay, so I missed most of the closing ceremony yesterday as I was bouncing back and forth between dealing with a computer situation and packing up the house (finding a house across town, renting our house, and packing it all in one week is no small feat!). Of course like every other fashion obsessed American I ran to the room to see the fashion spectacular and did a little karaoke to the Spice Girls…. Everyone everywhere, spice up your life!

Thankfully fashionista.com has all of the fashionable information we need about the little huge fashion show.

Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, the obvious stars of the show, wore gilded Alexander McQueen. The gold theme continued with Stella Tennant in Christopher Kane, Georgia May Jagger in Victoria Beckham, Lily Donaldson in Vivienne Westwood, Lily Cole in Erdem, David Gandy in Paul Smith, Jourdan Dunn in Jonathan Saunders and a Stephen Jones headpiece, and Karen Elson in Burberry.

I have to say that my favorite was most certainly Kate Moss’ Alexander McQueen dress. So elegant, chic, and really only she could pull it off so well. She was like a mix between a mermaid princess and a fairy god-model (having a P’ Trique moment… please visit The Platform on YouTube and enjoy).

I especially love this shot next to the Olympic Cauldron, the hints of pink make the dress all the better. Oh and her hair? Who can pull off the soft wave with such a gorgeous dress? Amazing.

Moving on to everyone’s second but equally favorite part (at least it was mine for sure) the Spice Girls reunion. I was beyond excited that they stuck to their major hits and their individual styles. Again, fashionista.com tells us exactly what each one wore… thanks!

Victoria ‘Posh Spice” Beckham looked hotter than ever in a Giles Deacon dress, Mel ‘Sporty Spice’ Chisholm’s outfit’s creator is currently unknown, Mel ‘Scary Spice’ Brown rocked it in her Zuhair Murad jumpsuit and she looked amazing, Geri ‘Ginger’ Halliwell (best name) wore a custom designed Union Jack mini dress by Suzanne Neville and she looked like she hasn’t aged a bit, and last but not least Emma ‘Baby Spice’ Bunton wore a pink dress by Maggie Cooke and we loved the space shoulders.

What was your favorite part of the closing ceremonies? Were you as excited and impressed with the Spice Girls’ performance?
