In a world of Photoshop and makeup application apps, it’s only fair to wonder if a photo or selfie has been edited and tweaked.
In a viral YouTube video, a South Korean woman is seen “removing her face.” She first appears with picture-perfect porcelain skin and a wide smoky cat eye with perfectly arched brows.
However, after a few swipes of makeup remover on one side of her face, the contrast between her natural features and the makeup on the opposite side are unmistakable, revealing significantly smaller eyes, sparse eyebrows and darker, uneven skin (aka she looks like a normal human being).
The unique possibilities of makeup are truly powerful and transformative, though it’s important to keep a mindful balance between realistic and unattainable beauty standards.
