Arizona Golf House Grand Opening Set for October 22

A new chapter for Arizona’s golf community will officially begin on October 22, when the Arizona Golf House celebrates its grand opening. The event will take place from 3-5 p.m. at Papago Golf Club, the site of this new facility that’s designed to unite and support the state’s golf-focused nonprofits.

Open to members, supporters, students, friends, and the media, the event is being hosted by the nonprofits and associations that now call the Arizona Golf House home.

The facility aims to amplify their collective missions, encourage greater public participation in golf, and spotlight the many social and economic benefits the game brings to the community.

“The Arizona Golf House provides a central headquarters for the state’s diverse organizations at the heart of the golf community,” said Katie Prendergast, Executive Director of the Arizona Alliance for Golf. “The efficiencies and collaborative advantages of working next to their partners in the golf community will allow them to do even more for the full demographic of Arizonans they serve – especially young people.”

The Arizona Golf House will serve as the headquarters for organizations representing nearly every facet of the sport. These include the Arizona Alliance for Golf, the AZ Caddie and Leadership Academy, AZ GOLF, the Cactus and Pine Golf Course Superintendents Association, the Evans Scholarship Foundation, First Tee – Phoenix, the Greater Southwest Club Management Association of America, the Junior Golf Association of Arizona, LPGA*USGA Girls Golf – Phoenix, the Southwest PGA, and Youth on Course.

More than just an office hub, the Arizona Golf House features a multi-purpose event space that is open to the public and available for rental. This space is designed to host meetings, receptions, and community events, further cementing the facility’s role as a cornerstone for both the golf community and the broader public.

In addition to its full-time tenants, the Arizona Golf House will also provide workspace to several other golf-focused nonprofits: the Desert Mashie Golf Club, First Tee – Tucson, the I GOT THIS Foundation, the National Golf Course Owners Association of Arizona, and the National Golf Player Development Foundation.

Looking ahead, the Arizona Golf House will play a pivotal role in workforce development, offering real-world training, internships, and career placement opportunities for students interested in careers in golf, hospitality, tourism, and philanthropy.

It will also serve as a hub for research and education, supporting collaboration with universities and championing sustainability practices that support the game and its long-term environmental impact.

The idea for the Arizona Golf House was conceived initially by Gregg Tryhus, founder of the Arizona Alliance for Golf. Its development was made possible through a partnership involving the Arizona Alliance for Golf, Arizona State University, the Arizona Golf Community Foundation, and the City of Phoenix.

Designed by Douglas Fredrikson Architects and built by Wespac Construction, the facility includes 14,000 square feet of single-story space, featuring offices, conference rooms, patios, a lounge, a central courtyard, and storage areas. Construction was completed in May 2025.

Located on the grounds of the city-owned Papago Golf Club in Phoenix, the Arizona Golf House stands as a unique, collaborative center dedicated to growing the game, supporting youth, and sustaining the sport’s future in Arizona. For more, visit azgolfhouse.org.
