Downtown Mesa is getting a new soundtrack this spring as the inaugural Mesa Amplified debuts May 1-2, 2026. Hosted by the Downtown Mesa Association in partnership with Nile Theater, this free, two-day event invites the community to experience the district through music and art.
Mesa Amplified transforms downtown into a dynamic, self-guided festival. Kicking off May 1, performances are hosted in and around businesses along Main Street, encouraging visitors to wander and soak in the sounds while supporting neighborhood shops and restaurants. As the sun sets, the energy shifts to the Under the Neon Moon Dance Party, where a DJ will spin tracks in the Neon Garden from 7 to 10 p.m. Attendees will have the chance to enter for VIP tickets to Saturday’s performances.
The celebration continues on May 2, with a full day of live music culminating at the main stage at Macdonald and Main Street. Headlining the evening is The Ataris, best known for their album So Long, Astoria and their hit cover of “The Boys of Summer.” They’ll be joined by ska band 2Tone Lizard Kings and Mesa’s own pop-punk group Fourbanger, who will kick things off at 5:45 p.m.
“We’re excited to build on Mesa’s longstanding tradition of spring music celebrations and introduce Mesa Amplified as a free event,” said Jimmy Cerracchio, executive director of the Downtown Mesa Association. “Our goal is to create a signature gathering that brings people together while showcasing the artists, small businesses, and creative energy that make downtown Mesa a hub for culture and connection.”
Beyond the music, Mesa Amplified highlights the spirit of collaboration that defines the area. Local favorites like Cider Corp, Diamond Don’s, Salted Knot, Rosetta Room, and Nile Records will be part of the experience, alongside art displays, interactive activities, and plenty of opportunities to engage with the community. Free parking throughout downtown makes it even easier to join in.
Mesa Amplified is about the connection between artists and audiences, businesses and visitors, and a city and its creative pulse. Learn more at Mesa Amplified | Downtown Mesa.
