Glitz and Glam Take Center Stage as The Cher Show Debuts at Arizona Broadway Theatre

The life and legacy of a global pop culture icon takes center stage as The Cher Show makes its regional premiere at Arizona Broadway Theatre, running through May 31, 2026. The production delivers a high-energy celebration of Cher’s six-decade career, blending spectacle and some of the most recognizable songs in music history.

Spanning her journey from folk-pop beginnings to disco-era dominance, Oscar-winning acting, and stadium-filling comebacks, the musical captures the evolution of an artist who has sold more than 100 million records and earned a Grammy, multiple Golden Globes, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“The Arizona Broadway Theatre production of The Cher Show is a celebration of reinvention, resilience and pure star power,” said Kurtis Overby, the show’s director and choreographer. “What makes this show exciting is that it gives us the chance to introduce audiences to our perspective on the multi-platinum star. They will experience the glamour and grit behind an artist who never stops evolving or making headlines.”

A defining feature of the production is its storytelling structure, which portrays Cher through three performers representing different stages of her life. “Babe,” played by Dani Kucera, captures her early years in the 1950s and 1960s. “Lady,” portrayed by Lynzee Foreman, reflects her rise in the 1970s.

“Star,” played by Gabrielle Gore, embodies her peak fame and reinvention through the 1980s and 1990s. Together, the trio creates a layered portrait of transformation and resilience.

Foreman said the role has required deep research and a personal connection to Cher’s legacy. The production features 35 of Cher’s most iconic songs, including “I Got You Babe,” “Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves,” and “If I Could Turn Back Time,” weaving together decades of music that defined generations.

“Preparing to portray Cher has been a labor of love,” she said. “She is truly timeless. You can ask anyone who Cher is, and they will know some version of her and her work. I have been deep into research, watching old interviews and performances to learn about her mannerisms, sound, and how she carries herself.”

The cast also includes Adam Marino as Sonny Bono, Harrison Asher Smith as Bob Mackie and Robert Altman, Carolyn McPhee as Georgia Holt and Lucille Ball, Jack Romero as Phil Spector and Lee, the stage manager, and Jeffrey Kelly as Gregg Allman and John Southall, adding depth to the story of Cher’s relationships.

Tickets for The Cher Show are available now, inviting audiences to witness a theatrical tribute to one of music’s most enduring and ever-evolving stars. Learn more at azbroadway.org.
