A new nightlife concept is inviting Phoenicians to do something a little different: sing… together. Not karaoke, not a performance, but a full-on, crowd-powered experience where everyone in the room becomes part of the show. That’s the idea behind Off The Record, Arizona’s first group singalong bar, officially opening its doors in Downtown Phoenix on May 14.

Off The Record flips the traditional nightlife script. There’s no stage, no spotlight, and no pressure to hit the high notes solo. Instead, the entire venue becomes the stage, and the magic comes from collective energy.
“Off The Record is an immersive, inclusive experience for music lovers who crave connection,” Co-Owner Ryan Oberholtzer said. “It’s a place where people can sing their hearts out and truly embrace the joy that comes from letting loose with their favorite tunes, along with a room full of people sharing the same vibe.”

Whether it’s a throwback anthem from the early 2000s or a current pop hit, each song is designed to spark a sense of nostalgia and connection. Instead of watching a performer, guests become part of a shared moment.
Each night offers a different musical journey, guided by professional DJs who know exactly how to read the room and keep the energy flowing. Expect themed sets spanning everything from ‘80s, ‘90s, and 2000s hits to contemporary pop, country, Latin, R&B, and even yacht rock.

Opening night is set to bring that energy front and center. A VIP party for media, influencers, and dignitaries will kick things off from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a public grand opening from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. After that, the venue will open Wednesday through Saturday evenings with singalong sets running from 7 p.m. to midnight. Off The Record is also rolling out a Sunday brunch experience from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In a nightlife scene that’s always evolving, this might be one of the most refreshing additions yet. Because sometimes, the best nights aren’t about watching the show, they’re about being part of it. Learn more at offtherecordphx.com.
