As summer begins to wind down, take some time to relax on what is the most hectic day of the week: Manic Monday. Metro Brasserie & Bar launches new seasonal wine dinners called “Pique-Nique d’ete” (meaning summer picnic in French) on Monday nights exploring different regions of France and pairing local dishes with corresponding wines and an on-hand sommelier. The tasting adventure will include regions such as Bordeaux, Cotes de Rhone, Languedoc, Loire Valley, Burgundy, Alsace and Champagne. Metro’s Executive Chef Matthew Taylor will prepare a family-style meal representative of each region featuring specialty items such as Oysters Bienville, Smoked Trout, Tarte Tatin, Coq au Vin, Choucroute Garnie, Boudin Blanc and more. Reservations are required; the evening begins at 6:30 p.m. and space is limited to 16 people each week. The cost to attend is $30 per person. The Pique-Nique d’ete will be offered every Monday evening through September 14. 7114 E. Stetson Dr. Suite 105, Scottsdale, 480.994.3663, http://www.metrosouthbridge.com/.
