Though Arizona’s nearest beach is a several-hour car drive away, that isn’t stopping RA Sushi from having a little fun in the sun. On Sunday, July 12 from 1 to 7 p.m., Mesa’s RA Sushi will host a super relaxing Sunday Funday Beach Bash. Event guests can enjoy $5 drink specials (including summery sips like John Daly sweet tea, mango margaritas, and Kampai mai tai); and $6 food specials (including shrimp cocktail, chips and mango salsa, and coconut onion rings). Instead of settling into one of RA’s tables or booths, Beach Bash-goers can get some r-and-r in lounge chairs while their toes wiggle in the sand. That’s right–real sand will be on the patio. Plus, DJ J. Paul will play beachy music all afternoon and sexy “lifeguards” will be on duty. And don’t forget to stretch for the giant Twister game. 1652 S. Val Vista Dr., Mesa, 480.632.9500 (ask for Jennifer Pridie, the manager, upon arrival), www.rasushi.com.
