Though wonderful craft beer is reason enough for a party, the Beer For Brains Foundation’s Off-Centered Experience Craft Beer Celebration on Oct. 2 also raises funds for the new Barrow Brain Tumor Research Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center’s Barrow Neurological Institute. The event takes places from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Scottsdale Plaza Resort and allows guest the opportunity to sample dozens of specialty craft beers not typically available in Arizona and almost the entire line of Dogfish Head beers. In addition to delish drinks, there will be Mid-Atlantic themed foods for sale from Remington’s Restaurant like Maryland crab cakes, beach fries, Philadelphia cheese steak subs and more.
Ticketholders will also be able to take in tunes from top local bands like Gooder, Bad Cactus Band and La La Lust. Tickets are $75 for general admission (unlimited beer, entertainment, and a commemorative hat and pilsner glass); $150 for VIP admission (includes the benefits of general admission plus early entrance to the event, unlimited food and VIP-only beer selections, plus a commemorative stoneware mug). http://www.thebeerforbrainsfoundation.org/.
