Recently the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards named Sanctuary Camelback Mountain the No. 1 resort in the Southwest for the second consecutive year. That honor adds an extra zing to the culinary festivities held during Thanksgiving weekend.
Thanksgiving Day Dining
Sanctuary offers many options for Thanksgiving dining with family and friends this year. A breakfast buffet held from 7 a.m.-12 p.m. in The Views Ballroom provides a great opportunity for resort guests to relax on Thursday morning ($25 per person). For traditional holiday dining with a gourmet twist, you will love the delectable four-course prix fixe menu at elements, created by Food Network celebrity chef Beau MacMillan ($75 per person or $25 for kids 12 and under, plus tax and gratuity and beverage). Drop by the newly transformed jade bar with panoramic views of the skyline and mountains from floor-to-ceiling windows and the outdoor patio to enjoy a special a la carte holiday menu available from 12-9 p.m. Late night menu also available after 9 p.m. If you like to keep things casual while soaking up the Arizona sunshine or panoramic sunset and starlight views, choose poolside dining with a holiday menu served 12-9 p.m. alongside Sanctuary’s beautiful infinity-edge pool. In-room dining features a special Thanksgiving menu plus another overnight menu after 9 p.m., and lets you enjoy award-winning cuisine in comfortable privacy.
Lunch & Learn Becomes Dinner
During the 12th season of Sanctuary’s popular series, Chef MacMillan and his celebrity guest chefs continue the tradition of serving a three-course meal paired with wine or cocktails. Guests will enjoy lessons on preparing the culinary specialties, plus recipes to take home. On Saturday, Nov. 30, acclaimed Chef Paul Boehmer of Boehmer’s restaurant shows the results of his journey through the best restaurants of Toronto from 6-10 p.m. at The Views Ballroom ($125 plus tax and gratuity). On Friday, Nov. 29, Chef MacMillan and his guest will host an intimate tasting experience that includes a multi-course menu paired with wines from 6-10 p.m. ($195 plus tax and gratuity). The event is limited to just 12 guests at XII, the ultimate private dining room where a wall of curtains and sliding glass doors offer a backstage pass into the exhibition kitchen.
