Help Support Maui by Dining at These Local Restaurants

Following the recent devastation in Maui, small actions can go a long way; and they can be as simple as eating at local restaurants that are stepping up to help those being affected by the Maui wildfires. Read on to learn which restaurants in the Valley are raising funds that will go towards Maui relief efforts and what you can do to get involved.

Badass Coffee of Hawaii

Badass Coffee of Hawaii is donating 100% of its sales of Maui coffee bags to various Maui relief organizations. Additionally, when you purchase any of the cafe’s “LOVE for MAUI” products, your entire purchase is donated to the Maui Relief Funds. The cafe’s Maui coffee bags, which include Maui Yellow Caturra, Maui Typica and Maui Mokka beans, and other Maui products can be ordered online or purchased in stores. Badass Coffee of Hawaii has locations in Phoenix and Tolleson.

Chula Seafood

Chula Seafood opened a raffle to support Maui relief efforts. Customers can enter $5 per raffle ticket for the chance to win a $500 gift card. All raffle proceeds will go toward the restaurant’s Maui fundraiser. Entries can be placed in store or online. The raffle runs through August 27.

Kaizen

Kaizen, a Japanese and Latin-inspired sushi restaurant in Downtown Phoenix, is currently running a raffle to raise money for Hawaii. The raffle began on August 21 and will run for a week. The winner will receive a $500 gift card.

Koibito Poké

Koibito Poke will be giving a portion of its August sales from the restaurant’s signature bowls to the Hawaii Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund, which provides rapid response and recovery resources for those directly impacted by the fires, as well as shelter, food, and financial assistance.

Original Breakfast House

To support the people of Maui, Original Breakfast House is donating 40% of proceeds from its Aloha for Maui menu and is also hosting a fundraiser on August 26 and 27 that will feature food specials, live music and a raffle.

Rusconi’s American Kitchen

For the week of August 21, Rucsoni’s American Kitchen will donate a portion of the proceeds from their Pork Tenderloin entrée to support the Maui relief cause.

Streets of New York

The favorite local pizza spot is donating a portion of proceeds from every Hawaiian pizza sold to the Hawaii Community Foundation now through the end of August. Streets of New York is also making a $2,000 pledge to the cause.

UnderTow

UnderTow has launched a non-profit initiative that will run exclusively at its Phoenix and Gilbert locations. For every Blue Hawaii and Royal Hawaiian Cocktail sold in August and September, the team will donate $1 per drink to the Maui County Strong Fund, which provides financial resources to support the community’s evolving needs during this time, including shelter, food, financial assistance, and other services.
