Arizona’s most anticipated restaurant industry event, presented by the Arizona Restaurant Association, will have the 30 best finalists across 2014’s ten categories for the second annual Foodist Awards. Chosen from a bank of nearly 150 nominees, the finalists span categories from Top Chef and Food Pioneer to Master Mixologist, Outstanding Food Truck and Emerging Restaurant of the Year. From first-time James Beard nominee Gio Osso to “vegetable whisperer” Charleen Badman, and industry magnates like Sam Fox and Craig Demarco, the Foodist Awards truly represent culinary brilliance throughout Arizona.
“We are never surprised by the innovation and talent consistently emerging in our state,” said Steve Chucri, president of Arizona Restaurant Association. “The nominations are always astounding – every single one worthy of the award. It was an incredible challenge for us to narrow down the finalists this year – I’m confident that both the industry and its fans will recognize the quality of the candidates in each category.”
The annual affair honors the most excellent representatives in their fields, and offers an evening of revelry and celebration for industry veterans to come together to commemorate the growth of the culinary landscape within Arizona. This year’s awards celebration will be at the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia on April 24, 2014 starting at 6:00 p.m. for a cocktail reception, followed by a four-course dinner and awards program at 7:00 p.m. The event is open to the public and tickets can be purchased at http://www.foodistawards.com. Complimentary valet parking will be provided and Uber will be sponsoring the transportation for the evening including one free ride up to $20 to all Foodist attendees.
