Valley seafood lovers have long known that Mastro’s Ocean Club at Scottsdale’s Kierland Commons is a top spot for incredible seafood, like the crowd-favorite Seafood Tower. Now, the restaurant is serving up even more tasty seafood–this time, in the form of sushi. And Mastro’s Ocean Club wasn’t messing around when it came time to decide which chef would create the new sushi menu. Angel Carbajal, of the award-winning Nick-San Restaurant and Sushi Bar in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, developed the new sushi items. Nick-San has been named by Travel + Leisure as “The Best of Baja.” Frommer’s states: “If you eat one meal out in Los Cabos, do it at Nick-San,” and, according to Fodor’s, “Nick San may very possibly be Cabo San Lucas’s top restaurant.”
Take a look at the tasty new sushi eats:
· Clear Lobster Roll; spiny lobster tempura, mango, avocado, spicy mayo and masago (flying fish roe) rolled with fresh greens, served with Chef Angel’s signature lobster sauce and curry oil.
· Maguaro Lime Roll; California chile tempura with big eye tuna, fresh avocado, ponzu sauce and curry oil.
· Chilean Seabass Ponzu; 6-oz. Seabass, fried crispy with a tangy ponzu sauce.
· Ahi Tuna Tostada; big eye tuna with fresh avocado, spicy onion salsa, and chili ponzu sauce.
If guests order four or more of the delicious new sushi plates, they will be presented a la the famous Mastro’s Ocean Club Seafood Tower. The Sushi Tower is a metal framed pyramid with inclined, spiral tiers highlighting every dish on its own individual plane. 15045 N.
