Resort Report: Last Minute Summer Escape to Tucson

This week’s resort report features a standout Southern Arizona resort with amenity-filled accommodations and activities.

Looking for a last hoorah before fall hits? The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain is the ideal place to mellow out and recharge before fall commitments arrive.

Simply setting foot on the elegant Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain property allows guests to ditch their personal time clocks and calibrate to the resort’s relaxed tempo. It could be its gorgeous setting among encircling mountain ranges, its sophisticated southwestern architecture or its sensational service-minded staff, but the all around experience at this Ritz-Carlton is certainly one to enjoy before summer’s end.

There is certainly no shortage of things to do at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain. Set amidst a lush Saguaro cactus forest along the stunning Tortolita foothills north of Tucson, the 850-acre Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain is highlighted by a spectacular spa complex, which features a private serenity pool with floating tanning island and cabanas. The resort is also home to 27 holes of Jack Nicklaus signature golf and is the site of the annual WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, a highlight of the winter for golf’s top touring pros. The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain features a complete fitness center, indoor and outdoor yoga and movement classes, tennis courts and dozens of walking, hiking and biking trails accessible to resort guests of various ages and ability levels.

The resort has two summer packages that will continue to run until September 9th.

Priced from $199 per night, Summer Returns at Arizona’s Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain includes luxury accommodations and a daily $50 resort spending credit. The spending credit is provided for each night of a stay on the Summer Returns package and may be used for dining, spa, adventure, children’s programs or recreation activities throughout the resort, where summer’s high-desert temperatures can average 10 degrees cooler than at many other Arizona locations.

Also new and priced from $229 per night, the Summer Fun package is similar to Summer Returns in its exceptional value, and it provides luxury accommodations as well as a daily spending credit of $100.

For guests seeking a room-only summer experience, The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain presents May-to-September 2012 rates starting at $159 per night on Monday-through-Wednesday evenings, and at $189 per night on Thursday-through-Sunday evenings.

Guests who take advantage of either deal before September 9th will also receive a waiver of the Resort Activity Package fees. There are several perks to the Resort Activity Package, like free in-room internet access, use of tennis and golf practice facilities and a bevy of other complimentary amenities and extras that guests should inquire about at the resort.
