A New Era of Wellness: La Valencia Hotel Spa to Open Summer 2025

The iconic La Valencia Hotel — affectionately known as the Pink Lady — is expanding its legacy of luxury with an exciting new chapter in wellness. The landmark seaside property in La Jolla has officially appointed Lisa Price as Spa Director of the forthcoming Spa at La Valencia Hotel, set to open in mid-2025.

This highly anticipated addition will become the only resort spa located in the Downtown Village of La Jolla, thoughtfully designed to blend the hotel’s historic elegance with the tranquil energy of its coastal surroundings.

Tucked away just steps from the ocean on Coast Boulevard, the new spa will occupy a charming three-story cottage built in 1904. Surrounded by lush foliage and designed as a true escape, the Spa at La Valencia will offer six serene treatment rooms, a carefully curated menu of holistic and high-end services, and access to restorative wellness experiences like sound healing, meditation, and Reiki.

The offerings will also extend throughout the hotel itself, with in-room spa services, fitness center enhancements, and wellness programming designed to nourish both body and mind. General Manager Troy Longwith calls the new spa a natural evolution for the nearly 100-year-old hotel.

Her journey began as a yoga instructor at esteemed destinations like the Golden Door Spa and the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. She transitioned into spa leadership in 2016, eventually managing multimillion-dollar renovations and guiding teams through challenging moments.

In 2022, Price joined Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa, where she helped lead the property to receive recognition from Forbes Travel Guide, a prestigious benchmark in the hospitality industry. Alongside her leadership roles, she has continued to practice and teach yoga,  mentoring others as a Lead Instructor and Teacher Trainer for YogaSix from 2016 to 2019.

Now at La Valencia, Price brings her expertise and passion for integrated wellness to one of  Southern California’s most beloved destinations.

“I’m honored to join the world-class team at La Valencia, where history, luxury, and wellness beautifully intersect,” Price said. “My intention is to create an experience that is both elevated and personal, where every guest leaves feeling renewed and like they’ve  truly escaped into something extraordinary.”
