The First Tommy Bahama Resort & Spa Opens in California

Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort & Spa, the elevated lifestyle brand’s first destination resort concept, has officially opened in Indian Wells, Calif., inviting guests to an oasis where island living meets desert luxury.

Promising an unforgettable escape, Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort & Spa combines the relaxed coastal design aesthetic that Tommy Bahama has become known for with an elevated island-inspired atmosphere. The resort sits on 11 expansive acres of olive trees, fragrant citrus groves and vibrant flower gardens, while boasting Spanish-inspired architecture and sweeping views of the Santa Rosa mountains.

Following an extensive, $20 million renovation and redesign, the reimagined resort features 215 guest rooms and five exclusive villa suites that are each thoughtfully designed with woven textures, organic tones and Tommy Bahama’s signature prints, as well as one-of-a-kind culinary experiences, three saltwater swimming pools, an award-winning spa and a boutique offering merchandise, accessories and more.

“We are thrilled to welcome visitors to the one-of-a-kind Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort & Spa,” says Resort General Manager Kevin Barnes. “The transformed resort seamlessly merges Tommy Bahama’s signature, easy-going aesthetic with our unique haven, and Grapefruit Basil’s new culinary experience is a true highlight, thoughtfully designed for our valued guests and the desert community.”

Each of the resort’s guestrooms, many featuring a private patio or balcony with dazzling garden and mountain views, provide a calming sanctuary with thoughtful placements of original wallpaper featuring lush green palms and touches of grapefruit pink, along with custom amenities. For a first-class escape, the five custom-design villa suites are entirely outfitted with Tommy Bahama furniture, decor and bedding, while also offering patios and luxurious amenities.

Grapefruit Basil, the new restaurant concept Tommy Bahama has designed exclusively for the resort, offers brunch all day and intimate dinner indoors or al fresco dining in the olive grove, while the Grapefruit Basil Bar serves small bites, a menu of tropical rum drinks and classic cocktails and an extensive wine list accompanied by local draft and bottled beer. Additionally, the elevated poolside bar Chiki Palm offers refreshing craft cocktails and a vibrant food menu.

A day of tropical relaxation awaits at the renovated 12,000-square-foot Spa Rosa, which offers invigorating desert-inspired treatments and relaxation amenities such as eucalyptus-infused steam rooms and outdoor cabanas with open-air showers. The holistic menu draws inspiration from both the surrounding desert and the brand’s island spirit. Reservations can now be made at Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort & Spa.
