Strap on your skis because Montage Big Sky has just broken ground and will be the first ultra-luxury resort in the Big Sky, Montana market. Opening in 2021, the escape will be the ultimate mountain paradise for those keen on outdoor adventure and five-star luxury.

Located less than one hour from the Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport and just 45 minutes from Yellowstone National Park, the resort will serve as the year-round basecamp for travelers to the Greater Yellowstone area.

“We are proud to announce the addition of Montage Big Sky to the Montage Hotels & Resorts collection,” said Alan J. Fuerstman, founder, chairman and CEO of Montage International. “The stunning natural beauty of Big Sky and ease of access to a world-class array of outdoor recreation makes this an extraordinary destination. With our partners at CrossHarbor, we are eager to bring an elevated, welcoming resort experience to guests and residents of this remarkable community.”

The $400 million resort will be centrally located within Big Sky’s 3,530-acre Spanish Peaks enclave and feature a mountain modern design with a natural and timeless palette of materials like regional woods and stones. Accommodations will include 150 guestrooms and suites along with 39 Montage residences. Resort amenities include a three-meal restaurant, lobby bar and lounge, market, pub and recreation room with bowling alley, indoor lap pool, family swimming pool, fitness center, signature Spa Montage, ski lockers and skier services and 12,870-square-feet of meeting and event space. The resort will also include Montage’s signature, immersive children’s program Paintbox.

Montage Big Sky’s outdoor amenities will be just as alluring as its indoor ones. The resort will offer ski-in, ski-out access to Big Sky Resort’s 5,800 skiable acres, the second largest ski resort in the United States by acreage. Other outdoor amenities include access to Spanish Peaks Mountain Club’s 18-hole Tom Weiskopf-designed golf course located just steps from the resort, hiking, biking, Nordic skiing and snowshoeing trails, plus three world-renowned fly-fishing rivers.
