Fairmont Mayakoba’s General Manager Named Best Hospitality Leader in Mexico

Whether you’re away from home for work or for pleasure, knowing that you’re in the best of hands during your stay is key to enjoying a seamless, stress-free experience.

Already a AAA-5 Diamond and Rainforest Certified resort, the luxurious Fairmont Mayakoba has now raised the bar even higher. The resort’s General Manager, Robert-Jan Woltering, who is also the Regional Vice President of Mexico and Central America for Accor Luxury Brands, has been named the best hospitality leader in all of Mexico with the prestigious 2021 International GM Award.

Woltering was selected among more than 500 nominees as only one of 50 winners across six regions. Having more than 35 years of hospitality experience, the distinguished accolade recognizes Woltering’s wealth of industry knowledge, including his recent promotion and ongoing dedication to maintaining the highest levels of service excellence at all Accor luxury hotels in the area.

“I am incredibly humbled to receive this award, which I believe is not just a reflection of me, but of my incredible teams across the Accor Luxury Brands of Mexico and Central America,” says Woltering in a statement.

Nestled within a private gated resort community in the heart of Mexico’s acclaimed Riviera Maya, Fairmont Mayakoba is surrounded by 240 hectares of lush tropical forest that hugs the pristine Caribbean shoreline.
