The Sedona, Ariz. acclaimed spa and destination getaway Mii amo will reopen on February 2, 2023 after a $40 million renovation and expansion project.
The spa resort closed in early 2021 to undergo its extensive renovation and expansion which includes a new light-filled movement and fitness wing, signature restaurant, dedicated consultation wing with a spectacular view of Boynton Canyon, and private suite of spaces exclusively for Journey guests. The project also includes the addition of new treatment rooms, guest rooms and suites.
All 16 casita guest rooms and suites were fully renovated, plus Mii amo built three new casita buildings with accommodations that feature fireplaces, private outdoor spaces, heated bathroom floors and soaking tubs with views of Boynton Canyon.
New spaces dedicated exclusively to Journey spa guests include a private Relaxation Lounge, the Journey Plunge Pool and Journey Lounge. Designed to enhance the sense of privacy and foster community, the Journey lounges and pool will give Journey guests a place to unwind, study and network.
Spa facilities now encompass 21 treatment rooms, including: 14 single massage rooms, three facial rooms, two rooms with dry float tables, one sound lounge room and one couple’s massage room as well as new steam rooms and saunas. Guests will also enjoy longer spa sessions which now range from 75 to 125 minutes.
Mii amo also expanded its commitment to guests’ health and wellness with new 3,300-square-foot fitness and movement studios which look out to the Sensory Garden while providing more space for fitness classes that will be instructed by newly hired fitness leaders.
The new signature restaurant, Hummingbird at Mii amo, will showcase an eclectic culinary program which sources seasonal produce from its own chef’s garden as well as from nearby farms, ranches and orchards. Airy during the day and candle-lit at night, the restaurant will provide guests with a healthy, tranquil dining experience.
Lastly, the reimagined Mii amo Boutique will feature both men’s and women’s apparel and athleisure, gifts, home goods and skin care while the Crystal Grotto will be refreshed with new furnishings and details to enhance its environment for meditation and reflection.
