Great Wolf Lodge Arizona Announces New Opening Date, First-of-its-Kind Slide and More

If you’re getting impatient for Great Wolf Lodge Arizona to open, then listen up. The Scottsdale hotel has moved up its opening date to September 27, 2019. Previously scheduled for an October opening, the resort will welcome guests to a playground of refreshing fun.

Recently announced and perhaps one of the most exciting details, an all-new first-of-its-kind slide will make its splashy debut. Appropriately named the Diamondback Drop, the four-person high-speed raft ride is full of curves and thrills, dropping riders into overlapping 360-degree coils before descending into a high-bank funnel that will slosh riders from side-to-side. Not only will the twisty ride mimic the movement of a snake, the design even resembles the desert reptile with a scaly-looking exterior.

“Great Wolf Lodge Arizona will be the first waterpark in the world to offer this slide, and we think families will absolutely love this thrilling new addition. This new, daring Diamondback Drop slide will even further fuel the level of anticipation for our new resort, which is already extremely high.  The pace of bookings is the fastest we’ve ever experienced for a new resort.”

Murray Hennessy, Great Wolf Resorts Chief Executive Officer

In addition to the brand new slide, the 85,000-square-foot indoor waterpark will feature a variety of body and tube slides, raft rides, activity pools and splash areas for all ages. Guests can cruise down the River Canyon Run raft ride, explore the interactive water play structure Talking Stick Treehouse or get their heart racing on the vertical drop Wolf Tail. There will even be a toddler area named Whooping Hollow with mini water slides and splash areas. For those looking to catch some rays, there will be an outdoor resort-style pool for all ages.

Dry fun includes the 27,000-square-foot Great Wolf Adventure Park, packed with dozens of family-friendly fun like MagiQuest, the brand’s live-action game; Howlers Peak Ropes Course; a climbing wall; Howl In One Miniature Golf; Ten Paw Alley bowling; and the Northern Lights Arcade. Dozens of daily activities will keep kids entertained including Yoga Tails, StoryTime and more.

The fun keeps going with eight room type options including themed suites that have separate kid’s areas with bunk beds, forest wall murals and more. Dining will include plenty of kid-approved eats from pizza, burgers, tacos and more while adults can enjoy multiple bar areas. There will even be an on-site Dunkin Donuts and the only Ben & Jerry’s location in the state.

Great Wolf Lodge is offering a grand opening special through July 1 for up to 30-percent off standard rates. Book here by using promo code GRAND.
