ADERO Scottsdale, the Sonoran Desert’s First Dark Sky Zone Resort, to Open This Summer

This summer, ADERO Scottsdale will open as the only Dark Sky Zone resort in the Sonoran Desert. The property, formerly the CopperWynd Resort, will open after an extensive $100 million investment and will be a part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection Hotels, a portfolio of 180+ independent distinctive hotels.

ADERO’s modern guest experience will be highlighted by views of Four Peaks and McDowell Mountain Range. Named after the iconic canyon surrounding the resort, ADERO will offer a bevy of outdoor adventures like fitness activities, nature experiences, art, wellness cuisine and culture. A total of 161 rooms and 16 suites will be spread across the six-story hotel and outfitted with the latest technology. Design elements will include things like a sunrise-inspired color palette, trailhead-inspired dreamcatchers and expansive balconies. With a focus on stunning views, a whopping 95-percent of accommodations will be positioned to take in the mountain vistas.

Guests will be encouraged to venture outdoors with ADERO’s Adventure Concierge that will guide guests through hiking excursions, direct golf offerings in partnership with SunRidge Canyon Golf Club and biking excursions led by McDowell Mountain Cycles. ADERO will maintain an exclusive sustainability trail, plus, nearby Adero Canyon Trail and Sunrise trail will be just a quick 10 minutes away. A one-of-a-kind art installation called Rattlesnake Pavilion will offer a place of rest for adventurists.

ADERO’s signature restaurant CIELO, meaning “sky,” will offer one of the best views in Scottsdale plus a collection of tequila and mezcal crafted cocktails, inventive regional cuisine and partnerships with local companies including Bone Haus Brewing.

A boutique spa will channel the healing benefits of amethyst and desert minerals through a variety of treatments. A fully equipped, state-of-the-art 5,000-sq.-ft. wellness studio will offer classes like daily yoga, stretch and sculpt, Pilates and indoor cycling with Peloton bikes.
