Carlsbad’s Park Hyatt Aviara Announces $50 Million Transformation

Park Hyatt Aviara in San Diego’s iconic coastal community of Carlsbad is undergoing a $50 million renovation. The property-wide transformation is scheduled to be completed this fall and will include an expansive redesign with reimagined guest rooms and suites, upgraded meeting and event spaces, new restaurant and bar concepts. It will also include enhancements to the grand lobby entrance, spa, fitness center, two pools and championship Arnold Palmer-designed Aviara Golf Club.

All 327 guest rooms and suites will receive a full redesign adding hardwood flooring in entryways, sophisticated bathroom upgrades and new furnishings.

The resort’s exterior spaces will undergo a landscaping refresh, as well as the creation of an event lawn. An enhanced pool area will feature new luxury cabanas at the iconic adult pool and a redesigned interactive family pool experience featuring a water play area and waterslides for children of all ages.

All restaurant and bar outlets will undergo a renovation and rebranding, including the addition of a covered exterior terrace for guests to take in the Southern California sunsets year-round. The new restaurant concepts will be announced soon and will feature immersive culinary experiences, for which the Park Hyatt brand is known.

The resort will also introduce an updated Aviara Spa and fitness facilities, golf course, clubhouse, and restaurant. The exterior landscaping and additions to the Aviara Golf Club will further enhance the golf experience of the Arnold Palmer-designed golf course in its storied 28 years.

“The resort-wide updates offer a more contemporary California coastal design that celebrates our natural setting in a new way. We are proud to evolve and grow this iconic resort while maintaining the same level of understated luxury and service at the highest standard that our guests have come to expect. This new design will set the stage for Park Hyatt Aviara as the premiere resort destination within Southern California.”
