9 Hottest West Coast Hotels Opening in 2019

From Napa’s vineyards to Aspen’s snowy mountains, these are some of the year’s hottest hotel openings on the West Coast.

The Guild, San Diego

Opening Mid 2019

Located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, the new Guild Hotel will open in the former YMCA building which originally was built in 1924. The new boutique hotel will offer rooms in categories like Society, Apprentice and Journeyman. Its restaurant Luca will have a bar, kitchen and outdoor courtyard. Most notably, the former YMCA basketball court has been transformed into an elegant ballroom — complete with the running track that now serves as the mezzanine.

W Aspen

Opening June 2019

The energetic brand is venturing into the mountains with its new Aspen location. The “posh mountain chalet” will still have some of the brand’s iconic features like the WET Deck, an all-weather rooftop with pool, Jacuzzi and fire pits and the Living Room Lounge, ideal for après ski drinks. The hotel will exude a 70s vibe and keep things hot with an underground nightclub. It will also have a full-service ski shop, restaurant and a fitness center.

Andaz Palm Springs

Opening Spring 2019

The vibrant Andaz brand is opening its newest property in the heart of downtown Palm Springs, adjacent to the Uptown Design District, just two miles from the Palm Springs Internationall Airport. The hotel will be made up of small buildings and guest room bungalows. Along with panoramic views of the San Jacinto Mountains and Palm Springs, guests can enjoy two outdoor pools, garden areas on an elevated patio terrace, a full-service spa, event space and an Argentinian restaurant.

Opening February 2019

Located just south of Santa Barbara, Rosewood Miramar Beach will offer a luxury seaside escape. Accommodations will feature an upscale beach vibe spread across 16 acres of lush lawns. Dine on farm-fresh eats at The Manor House or take in views on the rooftop deck at the sophisticated bar. A poolside eatery serves up custom burgers and ice cream. Bishop’s Lodge, Santa Fe

Opening 2019

Bordering the Santa Fe National Forest in the Tesuque Valley, Bishop’s Lodge is a historic retreat transformed into a luxury resort. The Lodge at Blue Sky, Park City

Opening May 2019

Located in the Wasatch Mountains, 40 minutes from the Salt Lake City airport, this new ranch escape is in the heart of the great outdoors. Surrounded by mountain streams, granite peaks and open air, The Lodge is a luxury complement to Blue Sky Ranch, a year-round destination owned by local developer and rancher Mike Phillips. Four Seasons Resort Napa Valley

Wine-lovers will soon be able to escape to Four Seasons’ newest location, surrounded by hundreds of acres of vineyards in Napa’s historic town Calistoga. The up-and-coming SoMa district will be home to the new Virgin Hotel which will be located just around the corner from the Yerba Buena Gardens. The Proper Hotel Austin

Opening Mid 2019

Along with other new properties in Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Portland, the mini-chain brand is opening up in Austin just a block from Lady Bird Lake. The 32-story tower will feature 244 rooms and 99 branded residences.
