Designed by Boulder-based Shalls Design Studio, the interiors are highlighted by Art Deco architectural details juxtaposed with modern decor, featuring local and authentic characteristics of the town. Earthy, natural and jewel tones are woven in with industrial elements like vintage leather, wood and metals.

Upon arrival, guests can take in the restored tin ceilings that have been brightened with a white hue to complement the original terrazzo floor. A mercantile counter with custom bookcases and local products serves as the point of check-in while an antique cast iron fireplace with original tiles offers up a cozy common space for lounging. Other ode’s to the property’s history include a variety of art showcasing Fort Collins from yesterday and today. A custom flora and fauna wallpaper leads up to the lobby’s curved grand staircase, a nod to the region’s abundant wildlife.

Guest rooms are stocked with fun amenities like woven accent pillows, hardwood floors, antique shoe form hooks, vintage steamer trunk nightstands, mid-century modern furniture, traditional sconces, deep grey accent walls with custom macramé weavings by local artists and more. In the bathrooms guests will find chrome finishes, subway tile and white stone-top vanities.

“The re-opening of The Armstrong Hotel is a significant moment, as it is one of three hotels that originally graced downtown Fort Collins and is the only one from that era still operating today. Our vision with the restoration was to preserve The Armstrong’s historic legacy and eclectic, fun elements of the original hotel, while transforming the full experience to be consistent with today’s discerning traveler. Upon re-opening, our hope is that The Armstrong will continue to be the neighborhood hotel that reflects local culture and educates about its storied history as a Fort Collins centerpiece.”

Aaron Black, General Manager, The Armstrong Hotel

Property amenities include Amara Massage Therapy & Wellness spa, meeting spaces and two dining outlets, Choice City Butcher & Deli and Mugs Coffee Lounge. Other updates include the hotel’s Ace Gillett’s Lounge, a local favorite, with new menus dreamt up in partnership with Proprietors, LLC, the minds behind New York and Denver’s Death & Co, the wildly popular and award-winning  bars offering cocktail-centric craft beverage programs. Additional programming soon to be unveiled will include intimate cocktail sessions in Gillett’s, local brewery summer tastings, elevated pet programming, and much more.
