Pine Canyon Club’s Morrish Station Honored by Golf Inc. Magazine

Pine Canyon, a private master-planned golf course and residential community in Flagstaff, Ariz., has been honored by Golf Inc. magazine with a 2021 Golden Fork award.

Pine Canyon Club’s Morrish Station, a caboose tucked behind the 9th green of the club’s Jay Morrish-designed golf course, was named an Honorable Mention in the New Private Club category in the publication’s annual Golden Fork competition. Golf Inc., the world’s only magazine for golf course developers, owners, and management company executives, annually recognizes the best new amenities and golf industry’s top dining facilities (Golden Fork Awards) at public and private golf clubs in its February/March issue.

Morrish Station is a 1944 railcar from the Santa Fe line, sourced and transported to Pine Canyon a few years ago with the intention of transforming the vintage vehicle into a unique grill and patio, where players making the turn to the back nine could refuel, while soaking up a sense of nostalgia in the fresh mountain air.

The caboose was dedicated in early 2020 and officially opened last summer. The railcar has been retrofit as a modern bistro, finished with nostalgic touches from lantern-style lighting to checkered fabrics, to dark woods and vintage prop luggage. Members enjoy a taste of Pine Canyon’s exceptional culinary offerings and an unmistakable sense of hospitality.

Golf Inc. recognized 19 honorees this year, 11 in the Golden Fork categories for best new and renovated dining facilities, and eight in three amenity categories.

Morrish Station honors Jay Morrish, the decorated golf course architect who created Pine Canyon’s championship golf course, who passed away in March of 2015. The unique amenity also provides Pine Canyon yet another connection to Flagstaff’s long-running tie to the railroad.

A town born during the days of railroad line construction, Flagstaff still sees an abundance of rail traffic, a point of pride throughout the mountain town.

Morrish Station is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is Pine Canyon’s fourth dining outlet. Members can enjoy live music, themed events and a morning cappuccino on the Morrish Station patio.

Morrish Station complements Pine Canyon’s robust collection of luxury amenities on property, from its family ice rink to its kid-friendly Camp Pine Canyon to its rejuvenating spa, its award-winning clubhouse, its decadent culinary experiences and its top-ranked golf course

Pine Canyon Club is proudly managed by Troon Privé, the private club operations division of Troon. For more information on Pine Canyon Club, visit https://pinecanyon.net, or call (928)779-5700.
