How did you get started in the residential industry?  Looking back, it seems I was destined to work in homebuilding. Many years ago, while working in the golf industry, I found myself interacting regularly with local homebuilders. Through our conversations, I became intrigued and saw the opportunity and challenge offered in residential homebuilding. Once I made the move, I knew I was in the right place and I’ve never looked back.

What is your favorite Shea Home project in Arizona?  Without a doubt, my favorite is Azure (pictured) here in Paradise Valley. I feel privileged to be a part of this one-of-a-kind project. Azure is the first community in the country to be built under the Shea Signature luxury brand, and each step of the homebuying process is designed to be a refined experience – from the initial tour of our models, to the selection of floor plans and meetings with our interior designer. Every day, I get to help our homebuyers connect with and build their dream homes. There is nothing more rewarding.

Tell us about Azure. What makes these Shea Homes so incredible?  The level of thought put into Azure is incredible. Every detail was considered before we embarked upon this project. From the gated entryway with its relaxing water feature to the layout of the 66 homes surrounded by desert vistas and connected to nearby shops, restaurants, and entertainment by pedestrian walkways, Azure offers a lifestyle that embraces the best Paradise Valley and Scottsdale have to offer. The homes themselves are architecturally epic. A blend of contemporary and traditional, these residences are clean and symmetrical while also being warm and welcoming. Achieving this balance was an incredible task that was thoughtfully executed in all facets of design.

What is something timeless every home should have?  In Arizona, every home should have a private outdoor living space that’s fully integrated with indoor areas. Integrating the indoors and outdoors is the ultimate way to enjoy the desert environment and entertain those special to you.

What is considered trendy in homes at this time?    Livability. From location to design, people want a home that works with the way they live.

What do you consider your biggest professional accomplishment?  I love the satisfaction that comes from bringing new team members into the Shea family. I know when we add the right person to our team, they are gaining the opportunity to embark on a great career under the leadership of the Shea family. Building amazing teams and being both a leader and a member of a high-performing group is an accomplishment we are all proud of at Shea.
