Drewett Works Wins “Home of the Year”

Congrats to Scottsdale’s Drewett Works! The architect’s beautiful Outdoor In in Paradise Valley was named “Home of the Year” in the 2018 Best in American Living Awards by the National Association of Home Builders.

The beautiful custom home, which opens out to the rocky red hills and colorful desert plants, celebrates alfresco living and natural light at the base of Camelback Mountain.

“This home is a great example of desert contemporary and uses textural materials reminiscent of the local landscape in all the right places, bringing the outside in,” says Don Ruthroff, Principal at Dahlin Group Architecture Planning, NAHB’s 2018 Judging Chair and 2018 Best in American Living Awards Subcommittee Chair, in an e-mail from Drewett Works. “It has clean lines, is beautiful and consistent, and is overall very well thought out.”

The house was designed by Drewett Works in Scottsdale and built by BedBrock Developers LLC, based in Paradise Valley. The home’s interiors were designed by Ownby Design.

Drewett Works also won the following awards.

  • Platinum Award for Best One-of-a-Kind Custom or Spec Home 4,001 – 5,000 square feet — Outside In
  • Platinum Award for Best Outdoor Room — Outside In
  • Gold Award for Best Remodel – Entire Home – Over $750,000 — Hummingbird Sanctuary
