Design Spotlight: Chart Oak Project

The Chart Oak Project was designed by Kristen Forgione, creator and principal designer of THE LifeStyled COMPANY, with family and entertaining in mind. Each room is just as statement-making as the last, flooded with beautiful natural light and a testament to Forgione’s signature Organic Desert Living style.

Kitchen:

“Perfect for family gatherings and entertainment, the kitchen is light and airy with a modern farmhouse design that is so comforting and makes any guest feel like they’re home. The accent stone wall gives a taste of natural texture and is complemented by the smooth finish of the marble backsplash and countertops. The look is classic Organic Desert Living–simple with a mix of neutral tones, yet textural with hints of natural materials. Adding the oversized statement lighting piece with clean, straight lines and brass finish gives a modern flare. The warmth of the gray color on the kitchen island is the perfect complement to the surrounding white cabinetry.”

Dining room:

“With the dining room being as spacious as it is, we wanted to create some depth with darker pieces that also added a sense of intimacy to the space. The combination of both classic and textured furniture pieces keep the area well-balanced and allows freedom when implementing geometric art and decor with strong features.”

Great room:

“The great room was the perfect space to introduce pattern and color to add some competition when it comes to the aged brick fireplace that is undeniably a stunning focal point. Comfort and style are always the main components when it comes to seating, and we chose an assortment of pieces with varying fabrics and colors. With balance being the key, we integrated a matching pair of tufted ottomans to create some unity between the various elements.”

Master bedroom:

“Compared to other areas of this home, the master bedroom is minimal with a simple color palette. We introduced playful shapes between the wall art, patterned comforter, bedside tables and barn door. The blend of white, black and light woods give the space some Scandinavian vibes, and has the space feeling cozy and clean.”

Outdoor:

“With the colors and patterns of the interiors, the patio space is where one is reminded they are surrounded by the desert. We wanted to expand on that and embrace the neutral color scheme while adding a touch of bohemian patterns and textures. The rattan lounger adds a place where relaxation is king! We didn’t want the texture to stop there, so the addition of patterned pillows and textiles took it one step further.”
