Aston Martin Virage Strikes a Balance of Elegance and Speed

“100 years of automotive history has demonstrated that evolution delivers the best solutions in time.  So it is with Virage; it is the next level of evolution in our VH architecture strategy and it does everything with the perfection that you would expect today. It is the perfect balance of opposites.”- Aston Martin CEO, Dr Ulrich Bez.

The Virage is a vehicle which strives to span itself across a divide in the automotive community, the space between elegance and pure performance.  Within its context on the Aston Martin line, it sits between the enduringly elegant DB9 and overtly sporty and high performance DBS, providing customers with a car that remains luxurious and understated, while at the same time delivering increased performance, high speed and easy handling.  It is the perfect car for those who wish to peel out at warp speed while listening to Vivaldi on a high end car stereo in a climate controlled and ergonomically perfected environment.

The front mid-mounted V12 engine’s torque delivery provides outstanding performance, coupled with the car’s inherent agility and perfect weight distribution delivering the ideal balance between outright sports car performance and trademark sporting luxury exemplified by modern Aston Martins.

Adding to the theme of driver control, a ‘Sport’ button exists on the fascia which allows the driver to, at the touch of the button, select a sharper throttle response and faster gear changes while also holding the gears without automatically shifting up at the revolution limiter.  In other words, if you want to indulge your inner Steve McQueen, there is a button for it.

Upon opening one of the wing doors, you are engulfed by the scents and sights of warm woods and rich leathers, all expertly hand made and hand stitched by craftsmen.  Inspiration has been taken from luxury leather goods to produce a pinstripe welt which flows down either side of the fascia and along the seat and door, drawing your eye through the car.

Phoenix Valley automotive enthusiasts can keep an eye out for the new 2013 Aston Martin Virage to be hitting Arizona showroom floors sometime this summer, and can view and test drive the 2012 Virage or any other current production model Aston Martin at Scottsdale Aston Martin.
