Now that the holidays are behind us and a new year is (finally!) here, I’m definitely in a resort wear state of mind. I’ll cull together some of my favorite trends and runway looks next week but today, it’s all about shopping. Here, a few of my resort wear must-have items that should definitely be in your wardrobe this season. So go ahead, book that cruise or tropical vacation and relax into 2009.
A pair of nude pumps, like this these amazing Fendi Grosgrain bowfront pumps from net-a-porter are perfect for a night out and an easy transition into your spring wear. The feminine feel and superhigh stilletto are sexy and playful tool.
The perfect white skirt, to me, always screams resort season. Sandy beaches and yacht parties immediately come to mind and with this Miu Miu sash belt skirt, you’ll steal the scene. The high-waisted skirt defines the waistline and the icy white is the perfect pairing for resort and spring’s bold, bright colors. Available at, www.net-a-porter.com.
A too-cute bikini is obviously a do. I’m totally into the bright orange color and mini skirt of this Cosabella bikini. The twisted bandeau bikini top even comes with detachable straps, if that’s more to your liking. Available at www.saksfifthavenue.com.
A printed caftan, to coverup the bikini is a definite must-have. The fun, daring print on this Milly printed cotton caftan immediately had me sold. Available at, www.net-a-porter.com.
Fun flats. I wear heels pretty much 24/7, but unless you’re in wedges or a playboy bunny, heels+sand=totally ridiculous. Don’t forget to pack the perfect pair of flats like these Fendi B-buckle black sandals. Your soles will definitely thank you. Available at, www.net-a-porter.com.
Some serious shades. These Marc by Marc Jacobs retro sunglasses are superchic and come in gold, plum or black frames. Available at, www.nordstrom.com.
A fun frock. Whether it’s an intimate dinner or an evening soiree, you’ll need the perfect party dress. This Halston silk blend dress from net-a-porter is on my list for its funky draping and cream-colored hue that dominated resort and spring runways this season.
