Flats…Your New Go-To

Generally when one thinks of a fab pair of shoes a few words might come to mind, “strappy,” “high,” and “uncomfortable.” But what if I told you a great pair of stylish shoes could be flat and incredibly comfy? … Of course they won’t necessarily be strappy.

Here are a few great pairs of slip-ons that might just become your new go-tos… yes even over those strappy stilettos. Plus it is always good to give your tootsies a rest, unless of course they are already permanently numb.

I will be the first to admit that though I love flat shoes that I wasn’t the first in line for a pair of TOMS shoes. I really wanted to be; I think that their One for One movement is inspiring. However, they may have won me over with these ‘Classic Crochet’ slip-ons.

I picture them as part of a great summer outfit: chambray shirt and a red pair of shorts. And you’ll feel extra good in them knowing that your purchase supplied a child in need with their own pair of TOMS.

Oxfords aren’t just for the man in your life, or even the black-tie affair…Now they are for women on the run. Another blogger I know wears her fave oxfords with a snazzy pair of slim leg pants rolled up just above the ankle. The looks is trendy and put together.

A shoe fit for royalty, Miu Miu’s ‘Crest’ Moccasin can be worn to the grocery store or a glam party. Don’t be fooled by the description, these are not your Disney Pocahontas Moccasins, think more like real Princess Kate Middleton. They even come in two royal colors: Navy and Burgundy.

Get in tune with your inner New Yorker with these Barneys New York Co-Op ‘Sloan’ leather loafers. You’ll feel instantly cool the moment you slip them on… They certainly call for a pair of black trousers and crisp white button-up. Finish the look with a sexy topknot.

We cannot close out the list without mentioning the classic Ballet Flat. Embrace the style of fashion icons like Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot. This classic shoe has evolved a bit over time, as can be seen by these Loeffler Randall ‘Natalie’ ballet flats; they are made of polka dot printed ponyhair and have a dramatic pointy toe.

Where do you wear your favorite pair of “oh la la” flats?
