Fall Obsession- Chic Legs

I almost couldn’t believe my ears when I heard the weather woman say that the temperatures will likely be in the 60s this weekend. Finally, the day we have all been waiting for—the day we break out our tights (or leggings)! Although I will admit that I did start wearing my tights a few weeks ago when it was still in the 90s… I couldn’t help myself.

Now, you may be wondering why I am so excited about these leg-warming garments. Well, it just so happens that they are one of my obsessions, and unlike most, a pair of tights or leggings aren’t just a last minute option on a cold day. Nope, I have been known to plan entire outfits around my tights. In case you haven’t heard tights/leggings don’t just come in the standard black, opaque, control-top nylon anymore (though these are classic and are always on my list), they come in designs, different fabrics and materials, and they can even look like jeans! So with all that said here are my favorite tights and leggings right now.

KIKI DE MONTPARNASSE Nuit lace leggings at Net-A-Porter

Lace is no doubt a hot fall trend and I can’t find a better way to incorporate it into your wardrobe than with a pair of sheer lace tights. These are perfect for a first date outfit—fun and flirty, but not too sexy.

DKNY ‘Metal Luxe’ Control Top Tights at Nordstrom

I am just in love with these rust colored DKNY tights. Their light-reflecting metallic fibers make them perfect for a night out or you can even pair them with a pencil skirt for work. Just make sure that the rest of your outfit doesn’t outshine them!

True Religion “Misty” Overdye Legging Jeans at Bloomingdales

I’m normally not a fan of the jegging, but I will admit that True Religion just may have changed my mind about the whole thing. These Overdye jeggings come in a pretty eggplant color, can someone say colored-denim trend? What makes me even happier is that they actually have real back pockets, which in my world makes them less hokey (yes I just used the word hokey).

FALKE Soft ribbed merino wool-blend tights at Net-A-Porter

Right up there with the classic black, opaque tights are the ribbed, wool tights. They will keep you cozy and warm as you face the cooler fall and colder winter weather while still making you look chic. Pair them with a pleated skirt and a cape for that uptown, ladylike vibe.

Nordstrom ‘Honeycomb’ Over the Knee Socks at Nordstrom

Okay, so these aren’t technically leggings or tights, they are more like socks, but I could not resist sharing them with you. The honeycomb pattern and ruched cuffs make them ultra trendy in that offbeat, cool kind of way. Wear them with all of your favorite mid-calf boots.
