Your Go-To Lingerie Guide

For whatever reason, I’ve come to find that the actual word “lingerie” tends to scare off a lot of women. But I’ve also come to find that lingerie, intimates, underthings or whatever you’re most comfortable calling it is totally subjective.

Drop any notions you have of lingerie meaning a completely see-through barely-there outfit on a 5’10” 100 lb. model; I’m here to tell you there’s plenty of options for those pretty little underthings suited for everyone’s comfort level. So whether you’re doing it for your man or just injecting some sex-appeal and self-confidence into your outfit, there’s definitely some looks out there for everyone.

The Corset

If there’s one undergarment I think every woman should embrace, it’s definitely the corset. Since the beginning of time women have been using them to cinch their waists and boost their assets. After all, it creates the illustrious hourglass figure that’s undeniably sexy. Luckily now, we can get corsets in all types, colors and fabrics. Whether you’re looking for something a bit more innocent like this white Agent Provacateur corset ($530) above or something more playful like Trashy Lingerie’s Marie Antoinette corset below ($425), there’s sure to be a corset to suit your liking.

A Sexy Slip

You can’t go wrong with black. And you also can’t go wrong by slipping into a sexy satin slip like this one from Victoria’s Secret. The lace trim adds some sex appeal while the coverage is a bit more demure. And there’s just something about a little satin slip that’s totally irresistible and comfy too.

A Little Bit of Romance

There’s certainly a way to be glamorous, flirty and romantic. And this Cosabella babydoll ($165) from La Petite Coquette is the perfect example of how to do it. The lace ruffle trim is super playful while the length and fit of the chemise aren’t too aggressive.

Something Playful

Release your inner flirt and go for something playful like this black babydoll ($390) from Agent Provacateur. If you’re feeling extra sassy try this sheer white one ($250) below.

The Garter

Never, ever underestimate the power of the garter belt. For something a bit more risqué, a garter+bra set is a surefire way to go. I’m not sure if it’s the thigh-highs, the garter, or the whole thing together but regardless, it always makes you look and feel oh-so-sexy. This garter, skirt and bra set from Victoria’s Secret ($85) is a total showstopper.

  1. I really like the black babydoll option…anything the pushes up the top portion of the body but covers the hips is good for me!!
