Look Chic for a National Championship Football Game

I don’t know about you, but I am already hearing the buzz about the upcoming BCS games in January. I guess the anticipation of a bowl game is for my husband, much like waiting for Lanvin at H&M for me. When it’s put in fashion terms, I can of course understand it, but I won’t exactly be able to relate until it gets much closer.

For those traveling here for the National Championship game no doubt our Arizona weather will feel refreshing for fans that usually have to sit outside in the chilly temps. Let’s face it, the guys have it easy when it comes to supporting their team… jeans and a jersey always work when showing your team spirit. But for the ladies, if you want to look chic and be comfy what do you do? If you don’t want to go the jersey route then show your team spirit by dressing your team colors.

This past Tuesday the Ducks latest and greatest uniform for the big game was unveiled. Nike CEO Phil Knight chose an uber hip white uniform with black trim and nearly neon yellow socks. So if you are dying to re-live your neon 80’s trip ladies… here’s your chance!

The most important rules for dressing well at a game is to avoid dressing in slouchy or sloppy pieces from head to toe… really there is no reason to look frumpy in the name of comfort when dressing chic can be just as effortless.

Try a fitted black or white tee worn under a loose cardigan like this Ami Dans La Rue from Shopbop.com.

Add a slim pair of jeans like these Citizens of Humanity Slick slim jeans also from Shopbop.com and top it off with a great pair of boots like the Steve Madden Linderr knee highs.

And for Ducks fans complete your outfit with a bright green or yellow scarf – try Old Navy or Target for a great color selection.

Of course if you are a Tigers fan the same rules apply… swap out the yellow or green accessories for a bright orange scarf, and your black jeans for a dark denim pair. Or try an ever chic peacoat in navy. Nothing looks more pulled together and this one by Pencey from Shopbop.com is a great choice!

Of course if you are a die hard team jersey wearing kind of girl, you can stock up on the latest official team colors at www.fansedge.com. To keep your look more sophisticated pair your jersey with similar pieces to those mentioned above.
