NYFW Review – Tory Burch

On Tuesday morning I had the opportunity to attend the Tory Burch Fall 2012 Collection show at New York Fashion Week. It was the perfect culmination to a very exciting week of New York living. I have to say that of all the Tory shows I have viewed this was one of my absolute favorites. I mean, not only did I have the opportunity to see the amazing Anna Della Russo in all her pink coat, leather peep toe boot and black fascinator hat glory up close, but I also bumped into Brad Goreski (yes, adorable) while being mesmerized by a beautiful collection by TB. Clearly it was heavenly.

From the program placed on our seats it stated – For Fall we were inspired by the idea of a prim girl who’s under the spell of the wrong kind of guy. She’s an innocent, unaware of her own sex appeal. The setting ? The hotel where they meet.

Can it get any more intriguing…. These looks were a departure from Tory of seasons past, instead there were polished and pretty dresses with nipped in waists in flowy chiffons or snug knits, and pieces dabbled with beading and sequins, shirred with pleats and lovely leathers in a rich but soft palette that looked fresh not drab as some winter color schemes can. This Tory seemed to be a little bit sexier while still maintaining that composed and sophisticated look. And the accessories… swoon worthy in everything from darling sequin hair pins, drop earrings and brooch like floral embellishments on bags along with printed silk clutches and t-strap shoes. If you can’t find anything here that you like then there is something terribly wrong.

The hair and makeup was a perfectly undone doneness. The brows were strong and full as orchestrated once again by Diane Kendal using MAC makeup. The eyes were smoldering and almost looked as if the girls had been wearing it all day. The skin was glowing and dewy and the lips freshly glossed.

The hair was perfectly disheveled an updo caught in a windstorm or slightly messy after a secret tryst and topped off with a clip, a headband or a jewel. Now this is the kind of look I can achieve!

The biggest problem here is that these looks won’t be available until the fall and frankly I need all of them right now. Though I rarely feel like this somehow Tory just really does have her finger on the pulse of the things that women want.
