More Oscars Best Dressed

Last night after snuggling up with a little dessert and Kell on Earth (though I love it so, I am beginning to get bored of all the relentless nagging and constant tears..sigh) I caught just a glimpse of the Fashion Police on E and normally Joan and I have the Vulcan mind meld going on…I generally agree with most of her fab and not so fabs….but low and behold…SJP and Diane Kruger as worst dressed nominee’s?? I couldn’t believe my eyes or ears! As noted yesterday, I loved, loved, loved Sara Jessica’s Chanel… and though I thought is odd I was still mesmerized by Zoe Saldana’s Haute Couture Givenchy…It’s a good thing I didn’t listen to the rest of the show, heaven knows who they thought the best’s were. I shudder to think! I would love to know what you think and who your favorites were!

Did I neglect to mention how much I loved at the strapless and one shoulder looks going on? And hello, this years Oscars should be dubbed the “heavy metal” edition for all of the gold and silver gowns and the metal embroidery going on.

The jaw dropping fabulousness of this year was so chock full that there was barely enough space to squeeze in all the hoopla in yesterdays post so onward we go with our red carpet favorites. Though she usually looks fantastic Cameron Diaz missed the mark for me over the last few Awards shows but this time her gold sparkling Oscar de la Renta and Cartier jewels were sheer perfection with her Veronica Lake-esque hair.

While pixie blonde Carey Mulligan with her slight figure and tiny little waistline looked smashing in that black Prada dress with metal embroidery.

I thought Vera Farmiga looked incredible in her magenta Marchesa tiered ruffled confection and Fred Leighton jewels. This was one of the gowns that my friends frowned upon but I thought it was a statement that shined.

And let’s talk about Diane Kruger, the Fashion Police called this a don’t but I thought this Chanel Haute Couture halter dress in black and cream was divine and so very classic Chanel. We know Ms Kruger is a risk taker as evidenced from other awards so and I think this one paid off!

This year I really thought the over forty crowd stole the show… as noted my favs Sandra Bullock, SJP and J Lo but to the list of uber fantastics I would add Demi Moore in that nude Atelier Versace gown it was ruffled perfection.

Helen Mirren always throws it down and this year her pale lavender Badgely Mischka was no exception.

I also thought that Sigourney Weaver looked stunning in her red one should Lanvin dress with the black sash belt. These are women that know how to dress their bodies without going overboard. Give it up for the chic and over forty crowd!

And even though she is still one year shy of forty I must metion Queen Latifah, she looked amazing in her pink satin and jeweled number and the hair and makeup were glowing and pretty as always.

Of course I can’t get by without mentioning the worst of the evening so stop by tomorrow for the looks that topped the worst dressed list.
