Spring Trend – Nude Makeup

Even though there are plenty of poppy bright colors in the spring makeup spectrum right now, there are days that I just want to look fresh and pretty without looking made up – an easy feat for those in their twenties but not as much so as you enter your forties.

And the “no makeup” makeup look takes a bit more work than you would expect, but the good news is that with the right products you can get your undone” glow on and still get away from the mirror in a flash.

Try these tips to get a pretty and natural makeup look:

Wearing less makeup means that your skin has to be in top shape. Be sure to moisturize properly and follow with a sunscreen. Be sure to allow your skin care products to absorb for 5-10 minutes before starting your foundation.
Makeup For Ever HD Invisible Foundation creates a soft focus effect on the skin that leaves skin looking flawless with appearing heavily made up.

The key to making the nude makeup look work is picking the right shade of blush. Too brown of a shade makes the face look muddy, while a bright color can look overwhelming. Try using a sheer bronzer to add a hint of contour underneath the cheekbones, then top it with a sheer peach blush to add just a hint of color. Makeup For Ever Bronzer lends a subtle tint to the skin and blends really easily.

For blush my new favorite peach shade is Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Calypso Coral. Not only does the cream formula stay put but it adds just the right amount of fresh color. Bobbibrown.com

Next give eyes a swipe of peach or a peachy nude shadow instead of a flat brown or tan. This wakes up the face and that little bit of peach helps to neutralize any veins or redness on the lid.
I love Jouer shadows for the pretty pigments and snap together portable sets that are great for travel.

And lastly on lips avoid using a shade that is too light which can look chalky and makes the face look sallow rather than fresh. Pick a shade with a hint of pink or peach rather than too much beige. This look works well with both matte and glossy lips as long as you use a neutral liner that blends with your lip color.
Tarte makes a great lip stain in a neutral tone. And there are plenty of lip glosses in pretty fresh looking shades like SmashBox Enhancing Lip Gloss which helps make lips look full and sexy.
