‘Shop, Save and Give’ With The Board of Visitors’ Care Card

Shop till you drop at a discount while giving back to the community in a big way.

The Board of Visitors has announced its 14th Annual Care Card Shopping Event from October 18 – 27 with the mantra of “Shop, Save and Give.”

When you buy a $60 Care Card, enjoy 20 percent off entire purchases from more than 600 participating retailers, like J.Crew, Williams-Sonoma, Tory Burch, lululemon athletica and more. All Care Card proceeds will be donated directly to UMOM New Day Centers, Arizona’s largest homeless shelter.

“This program is very unique in that it helps all the retailers in our communities, gives cardholders a benefit of 20 percent off and also helps a designated grant recipient,” said Ann Watts, The Board of Visitors Care Card co-chair. “Everybody benefits from all different walks of life.”

Every two years, The Board of Visitors elects a local nonprofit to be a grant recipient. Proceeds from the 2012 and 2013 Care Card have and will continue to provide medical, dental and vision care at UMOM, the organization’s current grant recipient.

Watts said that most participating retailers at Scottsdale Fashion Square, Biltmore Fashion Park and Kierland Commons will honor the Care Card before the official October 18 kickoff.

The Board of Visitors has tirelessly worked to donate $16 million to serve the greater health care needs of women, children and the elderly in Phoenix. Just last year, the organization donated $1 million to local non-profits.
