What better way to spend the holidays than by dining at one of Phoenix’s newest restaurants-cum-arts and culture hotspots? The recently-opened MATCH Cuisine & Cocktails at the FOUND:RE Phoenix hotel downtown is serving up special holiday fare for both Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Christmas Day, adults ($58) and kids ($25) can enjoy a prix fix menu starting with your choice of either seasonal wood oven-roasted squash, topped with toasted pecans, crispy sage and smoked sea salt, or creamy chestnut soup with dressed with bourbon maple syrup. Entrees include slow-braised leg of Colorado lamb with orange-garden rosemary jus and fried mint, tenderbelly pit ham topped with an Arizona-distilling glaze and wood grilled pineapple, wood oven-roasted prime rib with creamy horseradish, and albufera sauce or a vegetarian-friendly eggplant lasagna.
Take your pick from a selection of sides, such as au gratin potatoes topped with welsh cheddar, caramelized onion and noble bread crumbs or wood-grilled green beans tossed with pancetta, crispy garlic and shallots. Finish the meal with dessert options like white chocolate peppermint cheesecake and sticky gingerbread pudding made with medjool dates, brûléed grapefruit and served with black pepper ice cream.
Special Christmas cocktails include “No Politics Over Champagne,” made with cloudberry, elderflower, absinthe, sparkling wine and thyme, and the “I Think Rudolf is Drunk,” made with house vermouth, whiskey, charred rosemary, bitters and cherry.
Toast to 2017 with a four-course pre fixe menu with prices starting at $85 per person or $125 per person with wine pairings and $20 table side truffles. A $30 cover allows guest to ring in the New Year with party favors, a champagne toast, midnight munchies, DJ music playing all night and a countdown to midnight with Artist Randy Hedden.
