The Haunting: Arizona’s Haunted House To Open

Trick or treat! It’s almost October which means the season for candy corns, pumpkins, goblins, ghosts, devils and witches is upon us. First things first… “The Haunting,” Arizona’s premier and only haunted house attraction benefiting four local charities, will make its “deBOO” this Friday, Sept. 24 and will scare through Nov. 1. Happy Halloween Arizona!

Bring the kiddos for some spooks and witchcraft at an attraction that holds a 24-year history beginning in Salt Lake City, Utah. All set props, effects, decorations, and costumes have been relocated from Utah to create the ultimate scare house.

Brave guests can hear the story of a man named Walter who mysteriously disappeared, and his tormented family’s agonizing cries; navigate through an insane asylum; and stumble upon ship wreckage, where they will meet characters from Pirates of the Caribbean. These experiences are only a small part of the horror visitors will share as they brave this maze of ghosts and ghouls!

Susan G Komen for the Cure, Future for KIDS (helps at-risk children with life enhancement opportunities through sports discipline and life skills coaching), Helping Hands for Freedom (supports military families facing injury and loss, and improves the lives of military personnel and their children as they transition to civilian life through employment, mentorship and leadership programs), and Catalyst Arts Academy (empowers aspiring young artists through excellence in their chosen art, to bring awareness to and benefit other children’s organizations both locally and globally) will directly receive a portion of the proceeds from “The Haunting”.

“The Haunting” is located at the Bell Canyon Pavilions shopping center in Phoenix (I-17/W. Bell Rd), and will be open to the public from September 24 to November 1, 2010; Thursday and Sunday 7 p.m. – 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 7 p.m. – 12 p.m.

Tickets are available at the door for $18 (adults) and $15 (children 12 and under), and are also available at any Valley Fry’s supermarket for a $3 discount.
