Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale has you covered with “Summer Saturdays,” a vibrant weekly event series designed to make summer unforgettable. Every Saturday morning in June, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Fountain Park transforms into a playful paradise with themed activities, hands-on crafts, and special character meet-and-greets. Best of all, it’s free to attend.
Each week features a unique theme with corresponding activities that invite kids to explore, create, and play together. From crafting galaxy slime and racing superhero obstacle courses to meeting adorable animals and building ocean explorer boats, there’s always something new and exciting. Guests can also take photos with characters tied to each week’s theme and unlock same day offers from participating businesses.
On June 14, it’s time for a Wild West Fiesta, complete with Encanto-themed crafts, a petting zoo, and a chance to ride like the pros with a PBR (Professional Bull Riders) experience.
June 21 brings the action-packed Superhero Boot Camp, featuring an obstacle course, web-shooting races, and personalized superhero certificates. June 28 is a tropical-meets-winter celebration with the Luau of the Elements, starring a Polynesian Princess and Spirit Snow Queen. Kids can craft sand art, build and race ocean explorer boats, and explore a frozen sensory station filled with icy sea creatures.
“This summer, we’re offering something new each week so families can keep coming back for fresh experiences,” Director of Marketing Jessica Kubicki said. “Hosting free events is our way of saying thank you to the community. By providing activities where families can connect and have fun, we hope to strengthen the sense of belonging and togetherness that makes the West Valley special.”
