Popping the question soon? With October being one of the top five months to get engaged, and Flagstaff ranking as a top proposal destination, it’s the perfect time to take a trip up north.

Just below New York City, Savannah, GA and Manchester, NH, Flagstaff took the fourth spot for destinations to say “I do.” With the arrival of fall leaves, it is the perfect time to take a trip upstate.

The vibrant autumn background pairs well with the beautiful mountainscape to make for a picture-perfect proposal. Nestled between the Coconino National Forest, San Francisco Peaks and the Grand Canyon, there are breathtaking views and backdrops at every turn in Flagstaff.

Stay close to town with scenic views in city limits. Get engaged under the stars at Lowell Observatory or among the trees at Arboretum gardens.

Afterward, take a trip into town to celebrate with your special someone. Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar serves seasonal, farm-focused contemporary American cuisine. FLG Terroir is a relaxed wine bar and bistro that specializes in wines from international boutique wineries. For great Italian food and amazing ambiance, visit Dahl & Di Luca in Sedona, which is about an hour south of Flagstaff.

If you want to spend a few days up north, check out the Bespoke Inn. This boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Flagstaff combines historic charm with modern amenities. For a more luxurious experience, visit L’Auberge de Sedona where you can stay in creekside cottages or the two-story lodge.
