One of our favorite fall food events is finally upon us. On Saturday, Sept. 3, Phoenix Cooks! will take place at Phoenix’s JW Marriott Desert Ridge, giving Valley food lovers a one-stop-shop for tastes from their favorite restaurants, sips from top wine, spirits and beer purveyors, cooking demos and more. What’s more, proceeds from the Phoenix Cooks! event will benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Here’s what to expect:
-Sixteen intimate cooking classrooms highlighting wine, spirits, delectable dishes, Alaskan beer and more taught by the Valley’s best. Topics include, “Italian Delicacy Ricotta Gnocchi!”, “The ABC’s of Chardonnay” and “Mediterranean Meets Alaska”.
-New this year and launching Saturday, August 13th, PC² dinner series, Phoenix Cooks! for Phoenix Children’s. On the three Saturdays leading up to Phoenix Cooks, participating restaurants will offer Phoenicians exceptional offers and specialty menu items benefiting Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The complete list of restaurants and menus are available at www.phoenixcooks.com/pcsquared.
-Four live interactive cooking demonstrations stages, beginning every half hour. Watch as chefs compete head-to-head using a mystery basket of ingredients, or demonstrate how to put a new spin on a classic dish. Hosted by Clear Channel Radio and local media personalities.
-The 2nd Annual Southwest Latte Art Throw-down is back, but this year baristas from all over the southwest will compete in a bracket-style competition to create the most original latte art design.
-In conjunction with Phoenix Cooks, The Taste of the Desert Ridge will be a culinary journey through the great restaurants at host hotel, the JW Marriott Desert Ridge.
General admission tickets are $80 per person and cover food, wine, beer, spirit samplings and stage demonstrations throughout the day. Classes are an additional $10 per person per class. For more info or to purchase tickets to Phoenix Cooks!, visit http://www.phoenixcooks.com/.
