There is something nostalgic about the smell of freshly baked cookies filling the kitchen. For Isabella Silver, that feeling is at the heart of Georgie’s Cookies, a women-owned home baking brand specializing in gourmet olive oil cookie baking mixes and handcrafted cookies.
Founded by Silver, the business grew from the love of baking she shared with her late grandparents, who taught her how to bake from scratch at a young age. The name Georgie was inspired by a dog Silver rescued when she was 18.
“I grew up going to my grandparents house every week and they basically taught me how to bake. They would always make it from scratch, so I kind of got roped into helping them. They passed away a few years ago so baking always felt like I was close to them,” Silver said.
While many home bakers have started swapping butter for olive oil in cakes and other baked goods, Silver perfected the concept for cookies. At the heart of each recipe is locally milled olive oil from Queen Creek Olive Mill, along with local ingredients whenever possible.
Georgie’s Cookies draws inspiration from old-world baking traditions and uses clean, high-quality ingredients to create cookies with rich and distinctive flavors. Silver also expanded the brand with a signature line of gourmet olive oil baking mixes. Designed for easy home baking, the mixes include the olive oil in the package, making it simple to create soft, flavorful cookies at home.
Georgie’s features a rotating lineup of unique flavors, with the goal of creating “flavors that you may have never heard of, or would think of.” Current offerings include Key Lime Pie, Dot Cookie, Orange, Lemon, Pumpkin and Gingerbread, just in time for the upcoming holiday season.
After baking more than 10,000 cookies for customers across Arizona and beyond in the past year, Georgie’s Cookies is continuing to share its take on olive oil baking with dessert lovers throughout the state. Learn more about Georgie’s Cookies at georgiescookies.com.
